Short Summary:
Eika returns from a test flight with her airplaine, when she meets her superior – Captain Togo – for the first time. He’s astonished how young she is and Eika obviously dislikes the way he treats her, but he does not seem to take it all too serious. At a meeting some time later Eika gets to know there are two more test pilots to come, who’ve been civillians so far and did not join the military so far. Also she finds out the pilot who beat her last time, was only a helper.
Meanwhile Otoha is on her way to the military base. She’s riding a train for the first time and speaks a lot to herself till she finally falls asleep. She gets joined by Karen, who wakes her up by acident at the right station. Both of them leave the train and start to chat, while they are waiting to get picked up. Suddenly a woman starts to scream she got robbed and Otoha faces the thief with her wooden sword. What she does not know is the fact the thief’s got a knife, but Karen tackles the thief with her bag and in the end Otoha beats him with her sword. Before knowing they are going to work together Karen and Otoha already make a pretty good team.
When Captain Togo turns up both are suprised they are going to be test pilots together, but they are also happy to have found a friend, especially after meeting Eika for the first time, who behaves more than cool. At the base the three girls are going to share one room. As a greeting Eika tells them military is the world of laws and that they never should come in her way.
Afterwards the girls get to see the Sonic Divers for the first time and the captain explains not everybody can fly one, but the DNA of the pilot has to be compatible. Karen, Otoha and Eika try on their pilot suits and the first tests are done. They are showerd with a special kind of protection clothes and Otoha suddenly sees pictures of her little brother. The compability of the two new girls is great with almost 100%, but one of the girls seems to have special results, concerned with a “Final Encounter”, I guess it’s Otoha.
This evening Karen writes to her brother her day was exhausting, but great and that she already made new friends, while Otoha is already sleeping in her bed.

My opinion:
I’m still enjoing Sky Girls very much. In opposite to the impression given by the opening the show does not focus on fan service and mecha action (alone), but on the characters of the three so different girls. So far I like all three of them, even Eika who acts cooly, but that is only a fassade and I’m sure she’s getting closer to the other two girls soon. She’s overambitious and the utterance the pilot that day was only a helper must have hit her hard.
Otoha is very open-minded, perhaps a bit simple structured, but you simply must love her from the first second, not to speak of Karen, who’s so super-cute! But I’m afraid she’s seeing this military job through rose-tinted glasses. Of course she can be doing good things with piloting a Sonic Diver, but what about killing WORMS or even people with it and orders she does not want to execute.
At the moment I feel there’s so much potential in this show. I very much enjoy the introduction of the protagonists and that theer’s so much time for the introduction, still pace could get a little bit faster!

Short Summary:
Katsura sleeps with Taisuke / is raped by Taisuke while Makoto and Sekai are outside and dance happily together.
The next day on the train Makoto apologizes to Kotonoha for not coming to her at the reception of her classes haunted house the other day. Katsura is happy, but not as much as Taisuke at school (guess why!). He looks for Katsura to tell her he was so excited yestserday he could not sleep and that he’s got special tickets for a christmas dinner, he wants to spend with her. Kotonoha behaves very cold, tells him she’s got no feelings for him, but is Makoto’s girlfriend, and that he should forget about yesterday, too. She leaves and the disappointed and suprised Taisuke drops the tickets. He runs to Makoto to aks what’s going on and wether he’s two-timing Saionji, but Itou confirms he’s not going out with Katsura anymore. When he goes outside to dump some garbage bags he meets Setsuna, who once more wants him to promise to her he will look for Sekai, when she’s gone. Sekai still does not know Setsuna is going to leave the country.
Suddenly Kotonoha turns up and asks wether Makoto is free the next afternoon, but Makoto turns her down and makes clear it’s better if they don’t see each other anymore. Setsuna trys to meddle again, but Katsura threatens her to tell Makoto and Sekai she kissed him during the school festival. Setsuna reacts with kissing Makoto and telling Kotonoha they are lovers now. Katsura can’t belive what she sees and slumps down. Finally Makoto directly tells Katsura he does not love her anymore.
Later Sekai looks for Makoto, but can’t find him, so Setsuna offers to look for him. Actually she does find him, having intercourse with Kato once again, who makes wuite clear she’s okay with a sex only relationship.
Afterwards Setsuna comes to Makoto’s apartement to speak with him. She wants him to break up with Kato, too, so he’s only Sekai’s boyfriend. In return she offers him her body. In the meantime Sekai attends a party of the basketball club. She did not know it was not going to be a real party but the presentation of a vidoe taken by a hidden camrea in “the lounge”. Sekai’s friend starts to cry and breaks down, while Makoto has to face the truth: On the video Makoto is doing it with Kato!
Sekai starts tu run and tries to call Makoto who’s not answering his phone. In the end Sekai meets Katsura on a bridge. Kotonoha is carrying a big bag which makes strange jingling sounds and asks for Makoto and Setsuna. When the two girls’ eyes meet you can see Katsura’s look is empty.
Setsuna is at the airport to leave the country, but makoto comes running after her.

My opinion:
I never thought it could get THAT worse! What an awesome episode, I’m late with blogging about it, so I won’t say too much. There was a lot of developement for all the characters this time and some cruel hints were given this could end really bad.
Actually it started really bad with Taisuke and Katsura having sex. When I watched I wasn’t too sure about that, but after reading the comments over there at Random Curiosity it took a closer look and there’s no doubt those two had intercourse. Look at the last photo, what are those milky white stains on the floor? But wether Taisuke raped her or not, I can’t tell. I would say she was in a state of shock and just let him do it, but perhaps we will see in the next two episodes. Go Katsura and kill him!!!

A boy is new in the city and wonders why the heck there’s a whale (!) floating in the sky. A girl is laughing about his astonishement and concludes he must come from the countryside, as he does not know about the floating whale. Her name is Haibana and it seems she’s a freshman at the same school he will be attending soon.
My opinion:
This was the first ONA I’ve watched, only about four minutes long. What’s that, the typicall I’m new to the city and don’t know anything yet, a floating whale and Haibana, the girl with the big breasts and annoying character. To catch me with only four minutes you have to give me something else! Gomen ne!

Short Summary:
In the years 2071 to 2074 big cyber aliens called WORMS come to earth and start to wipe out mankind. The humans have no other choice than using weapons of mass destruction. The continents got split, the Antarctic is gone and 90% of the male population aged 20 to thirty got killed; but at least the WORMS are gone.
Still the military is doing test with new flying weapons, piloted by…I guess the three girls we got introduced to this episode. First one is Otoha-chan. She’s living on an island, were energy is rare. One day when she goes fishing for seashells an military airplane arrives at the island and people wonder what the officers might want. Otoha returns to her families house and goes off for training, as her grandfather is master of a dojo and teaches her to fight, but so far Otoha has always been beaten. After training Otoha dashes of to a certain place to watch the sunset. She rembers herself sitting ther with her younger brother Yuki, making plans to both become pilots one day. The same time two military officers arrive at her families house and Otoha is offered a job as a test pilot, though she’s only sixteen.
The scene changes and we get to know Eika, a femal pilot, who just lost to one of the new flying robots – a Sonic Diver. A bunch of young men run after her and try to convince her she’s the best, but she only wants to be alone.
Last but not least there’s Sonomiya Karen, a highly gifted girl, who’s not good at conversation with any boy besides her brother whom she’s writing letters to. She’s more than suprised, when the same two military officers that came to recruit Otoha, turn up and ask her to join the military. The sentence impressing her the most is when the 15 year old female officer tells her she can help others with that job.
Meanwhile Otoha has decided to take the job, but her grandfather is against it. He gives her one chance, if she can hit him with her sword, she’s allowed to go. Actually he lets her win, but Otoha does not understand that till she’s on the ship bringing her away from teh island, she’s never left before and waving goodbye to her friends and family.

My opinion:
Did I ever post 16 screenshots for any other show’s episode before? I think not…
After watching the first two minutes or so and the opening I thought of turning “Sky Girls” off. A lots of cute girls flying big airplanes and robots…no thanks. But wait, what awaited me was a lovely and solid introduction to the three main characters. The animation is just wonderful ( I loved the sunset-scene on the cliff) and the character designs more than cute. I’m sure those cute girls will be flying big airplanes and robots, but from what I’ve seen so far I so much hope there will be the main focus on character development and relationships between the protagonists, so I’m on board with Otoha and co, for at least a second look and hopefully 24 episodes more.

Short Summary:
Shiika awakes on Rina’s sofa. It seems she helped the Mushibane the other days and is now staying at lady’s apartement. Together they eat breakfast and Rina is astonished how happily Shiika can smile, although she’s a host. She takes her new housemate to the her mother’s grave and tells Shiika about her past. When Rika was a small child her father used to be gentle to her mother in public, but at home he only beat her up and Rina was in her room without a TV or anything and all she could do was drawing pictures of what she could see outside the window. She planned to kill her father and after her mother had died because of an illness she was afraid her father might get at her now. But she met the same strange woman like Shiika and became a host. The first thing she tried to do was to kill her father, but he managed to survive. Now she wants to use her powers to save all the Fallens and fight the SEPB together with Fuyuhotaru.
Afterwards the two go shopping for new clothes and back at home in the evening Rina recognizes Shiika’s got a phone number and offers her to use her cell phone, but Shiika refuses to use it. Rina tells her she should not hold back her feelings because she’s a host. If there’s no love mushitsuki would really only be monsters. Still Shiika does not call Daisuke, instead she’s taking a bath with Rina, who’s crying secretly.
This night Shiika nd Rina share a bed, but Rina leaves it after some time to meet Minmin on the balcony. The traitor tells her about her fight with Kakkou and that she won’t be able to bring her good information anymore. Than she jumps of into the dark.
The next day Daisuke is late for school and falls down in front of his classmates. Rina watches him, turns pink and thinks something like “there’s still something I have to do”, so it seems she’s got crush on him, but wants to concentrate on her leadership of the Mushibane first. The younger members of the group are afraid they might turn into a monster like Centi in the future and Rina tells them that’s certainly not going to happen if they hold on to their dreams, but she knows that’s not true.
Meanwhile Shiika is at home watching TV, thinking of Daisuke while Daisuke thinks of her. In the evening Daisuke meets Haji and sees a picture of the little girl who’s mushi he had killed in the park. Haji makes a comment she looks a bit like her…Fuyuhotaru, Kakkou turned into a Fallen four years agao, and not only her: Daiskue starts to remember his first mission for the SEPB. He was supposed to capture Fuyuhotaru, but then the plans were changed and he had to turn a lot of SEPB members into Fallens. Afterwards he refuses to capture the girl, he does not want to hurt anymore people, but he’s the only one left to capture her so he slowly moves into her direction. It’s snowing now and finally he finds the green haired girl down on their knees. They like each other from the beginning and he wants to ran off with her, but she’s tired of hurting other people as well (she has maybe killed those office memebers that had came to capture her) and offers Kakkou her dream, so he shoots her mushi.
Rina is back in the bed and Shiika wonders wether it’s going to snow and tells Rina she’s remebering a boy from long ago, but does not tell her the name. Rina starts to tickle her and outside it starts to rain, not snow. At school Asami – one of Rina’s classmates, who’strying to find out everything about mushi – watches a video on her computer which seems to be a shoot of the events at the seaside park and looks shocked at the display.

My opinion:
This was again a slowpace episode, which does not mean it’s been boring, not at all. The character constellations get more complicated. That rises again the drama potential for the identity revelation party. I was shocked by Rina’s story, that of all things the person who tries to save others all the time tried to kill her father once. I wonder why Daisuke does not recognize Shiika is Fuyuhotaru, she did not change that much in the four years and it seems she’s not only one of hundreds he has turned into a Fallen, but she’s been special to him from the beginning.
I feel like Minmin, who did not play such a big role so far might get important in the future and I feel like she will be killed. Why did Rina cry in the bathroom and WHY does she not recognize Shiika is the girl Daiskue ran off with in episode two…or does she recognize???? And is she really in love with Daisuke or do I mistake it?

Short Summary:
Haji is Branch chief of the Eastern Central branch of the SEPB. His goal is to find the three mushi hosts who started everything and then get rid of all the other hosts so Japan comes back to peace. Kakkou is ordered only to kill the mushis, but not harm their hosts, although they are Fallens after their mushi has been killed, which means they are like dead. So much about the background story ( I have to write it down to rember and understand it all myself).
Centi wanders around in the park while his mind is trapped in astrange fanatsy world, which consist of clocks and mushis. In the meantime lady bird an Kakkou meet and she accuses him of having crushed the little girls dreams and futures. Kakkou ansewrs her weakness is the reason why lady can’t save anyone. She’s getting angry and swears to kill Kakkou, but the whole situation is an ambush and many SEPB mushis appear. The situation seems hopeless for Rina, but suddenly Centi and his mushi come out of the ground to save her.
Shiika and one of the younger boys of the Mushibane have met and wonder around in the park together till they meet Haji’s assistant who shows them the way to the east exit, of course that’s also an ambush. The two are clever enough to be careful and hide.
While the rest of the Mushibane try to escape Kakkou has to find out his colleague Minmin is a traitor and exchanges information with the Mushibane. They have a fight and Minmin flees. But the Mushibane around lady can’t escaped. They get caught by spider mushis and Haji turns up to have a profound conversation with lady. When he tries to touch lady Centi goes bersekr and his mushi starts to devour his dream, which means it mutates and Centi is going to be killed. Kakkou tries to kill his mushi and asks lady for help. First she refuses, because Centi will become a Fallen, when his mushi is killed, but in the and she agrees as Kakkou convinces her there will be a way to bring him back from being a Fallen. The most important thing is he stays alive. So lady does as she’s supposed to do and kills his mushi, there’s some time left before it’s finally dead and Rina and Centi walk away together. They speak of the time when they founded the mushibane and Centi remebers how Rina gave him a kind of home and it seems he loves her. Then it’s over, he has become a Fallen and Rina cries desperately.
In the end Shiika and the young boy see the SEPB forces run and the boy guesses they are hunting lady and the others, so he runs of the save them. Shiika recognizes he is a mushitsuki and wonders what she should do now. Finally her own mushi appears.

My opinion:
This must have been the longest summary I’ve ever written, but I’m so sucked in by this show that I don’t want to miss or forget anything. It’s been a suprise Minmin is a traitor, but I should have recognized, as the Mushibane knew where Fuyuhotaru would be the next day. I wonder wether Daisuke knows who Shiika is or not.
Haji was introduced properly this episode and he’s one of the Gendou Ikari type of characters, you just have to hate him. Is he really a relative or even the father of Shiika or did his assistant get the totally wrong idea?
I love the way Rina acts when she is lady bird. She tries desperatley to be strong, but she’s so human and emotional, she might be my favourite character so far. I also got to like Centi, it’s a pity he’s a Fallen now and I hope he will come back soon.

Short Summary:
At school Daisuke can only think of Shiika and leaves early to meet her at the seaside park. Lina meets up with her Mushibane members and tells them a girl called “Fuyuhotaru” who’s said to have escaped from GARDEN and even returned from being a Fallen will be at the seaside park today. They want to find her and convince her to be their ally. They are talking of no one else then Shiika. When the other members have left Centi asks Lina wether he is alloed to find “Fuyuhotaru”. He wants to make up for his mistake in the last fight, but Lina does not give him the allowance, she’s going herself and needs him to protect her. She leaves and suddenly Centiu’s mushi appears. The strange thing is its eyes are red and it doesn’t follow Centi’s orders. Then it’s gone again.
Daisuke and Shiika spend a nice time at the park together, till the Special Environmental Conservation Executive Office appears and evacuates the park. They are here to catch Shiika and “lady bird”. People start to leave the park when suddenly a little girl appears to be a mushitsuki. Her mushi, like Centi’s mushi which isn’tt aking orders anymore, has also got red eyes and attacks the little girl’s mother and sister. The Executive Office decides to catch that girl first, so Lina tries to save her, but the girl runs away to find her mother and meets Daisuke, who’s now Kakkou. He treats her gently, but in the end he shoots the little girls mushi and she collapses.

My opinion:
Thi episode has been awesome. Are we really only at episode three, it already feels like the final arc of the show, though I don’t understand what mushi, GARDEN and Fallens are.
If I get it right not only the Mushibane are mushi owner, but those who hunt them as well??! What will happen to Shiika and when will Daisuke and Lina discover the others true identity? Questions over questions, ladies and gentlemen ^^

Short Summary:
Daisuke jumps and somehow he makes it in time before the train comes. He’s watched by some girls from his class including Lina. Before he’s catched by a railstation worker he grabs the green haired girl’s hand and together they ran off to a nearby park. Daisuke apologizes for his sudden action although they don’t know each other and asks her out for this afternoon. The girl called Shiika agrees and the two meet after school and enjoy a happy time together. As Shiika does not own a cell phone he gives her his number and promises to be there for her, whenever she calls. Then the two part and Shiika goes home. She comes there for the first time after many years and finds it deserted. Everything looks like it has done before, there’s even a message by her sister to welcome her back, but her family is gone. Shiika starts to remeber her past, she always felt alone and unwanted by her parents, the only loving her was hert sister. One day she met a mysterious woman asking for her dream, then it seems she got posessed by a mushi. One day she sees a girl almost being killed on the street by a forthcoming truck and uses her mushi power to save that girl. But people started to scream she’s a monster and her parents call someone to take her away. With all these memories in her mind Shiika cries and calls Daisuke, wether it’s okay to meet again tomorrow at aseaside park. Daisuke agrees. Their conversation is overheard by one of Daisuke’s femal hunter colleagues and she seems to be very inetrested.

My opinion:
Wow, I feel like I already love this show. veerything is so perfect for me: characters story, the pace and especially the music, which touches me so much.
So it seems neither Daisuke nor Shiika remember each other, it’s still interesting they reacted on each other in such a way. I feel affirmed some drama might come up when the two discover who the other one is. I wonder wether the show will continue with this soft tone or wether we’ll come back to the action of the first episode.
