Fate/stay night - Episode 1
The Day It Began
Fate/stay night is the most hyped show of the new season as far as I know. Honestly the animation is damn good, and that's one of the most important points for me.
But because it's so hyped I'm very sceptical and so far there's nothing special about it. Charcter design is likeable, but the first episode did not have the "Sugoi...NANI?" effect like for example Loveless. Also I'm very unpleased with the music - opening and bgm.

I didn't consider the animation really great. Except for the well-done backgrounds it's really nothing outstanding. Also the character designs look oversimplified especially compared to the detailed backgrounds. The initial fight scene was really nothing to write home about. It was merely some background panning. Compare that with Noein's awesome intro scene... Something I seemingly detest is the mix of comedy with mystery. (Think: Angel Heart *barf*) Seeing that Asa has lost her green hair and become a useless teacher was almost heart-breaking. That said, the show is certainly not bad but I doubt I'll be watching even the second episode if I find anything else interesting.

It was the same with Noein for me, I was overwhelmed by the first episode and I miss the feeling here. I'm okay with the animation but i have to agree with teh character design. I can't remember her name but the girl on the thrid screenshot looks for me like a black haired Asuka (Evangelion) O.o
